5 Things You Can Do To Train Your Brain

There are many things you can do to train your brain but I’m going to give you 5 of my own suggestions to help get you thinking about what will work best for you. I recommend picking one or two so that you can start getting in the mode of strengthening your mental toughness and productivity.

WAKE UP AND GO TO BED EARLY ON A SCHEDULE

Getting good rest actually requires a lot of discipline. Many of my clients tell me of how difficult it is to not only go to bed consistently but actually close their eyes to go to sleep as well. They might get in the bed, but not off of their phone or stop watching the TV. In fact it will take some time for your body to get in the mode of shutting down for rest if you haven’t been doing it regularly so many people give up on the idea when they don’t see instant results. This is why it’s first on the list. While it doesn’t seem like a difficult thing to do it trains many of your other abilities to do more of the more difficult tasks. Aside from giving you the ability to do more in general it’s something that needs to be developed most of all.

DO THE HARD TASKS FIRST

If you have a list of things to do try to do the most difficult items first. This will get you in the mode of making the difficult tasks no more daunting that the easy ones on your list. If they’re all just items on your list that require one or more steps then there won’t be an emotional component keeping you from tackling the ones that have more than a few steps to accomplish.

DO PUZZLES AND PLAY BRAIN GAMES

Games are one of the most enjoyable ways to train your brain to accomplish difficult tasks. When you’re having fun it’s sure is a lot easier to get your brain to solve problems while avoiding the overall frustration involved.

LEARN SOMETHING NEW

Learning something new will always be one of the things that forces your brain to create new neural pathways. Something like learning a new language or how to draw generally activates different parts of the brain then you’re used to using already.

MEDITATE

Meditation has been proven to calm the mind, lower anxiety/depression, and even alter our DNA, but it’s hard to master. It can take even a lifetime to master one type of meditation and yet there are many. If you are able to find the type of mediation that suits you best then doing until there is complete mastery of it could take year. Imagine though, if you could simply change your DNA with a simple breath and thought of the mind. This is the kind of thing you want to be able to train your mind to do. When you can do something like that you have trained your mind to the absolute limits of it’s capability.
